OVER VIEW OF ASIA


Asia is the largest as well as most populous continent of this World which is primarily situated in the northern and eastern hemispheres. This continent covers total 30% of the land area of the Earth and the population of this continent is around 3.9 billion.
As per the definition of National Geographic Society and the Encyclopedia Britannica, 4/5 of the Asian continent is the part of the landmass of Eurasia.
The western part of this continent is occupied by Europe and it is situated in the east of Ural mountains, and Suez Canal, and South of Caspian Sea and Black Sea and Caucasus mountains. The Asian Continent is bounded on the East by the Pacific ocean, North by Arctic ocean, and South by Pacific ocean. The Asian continent very widely diverse within and among the regions with regard to the cultures, ethnic groups, economics, environments, government systems and historical ties.


Geography of Asia:


 
Being the biggest continent on the Earth, the geographical location of Asia is very much complex. This continent borders the continents of Africa, Europe and Oceania and also of the Indian and Pacific ocean. The total Asian continent is parted into 48 countries, among them two countries have their parts of land in the European continent.

    Taj Mahal- Located in Agra, it is an inimitable marble tomb.
    Bali- It is the place with exclusive Hindu culture, mountains and beaches on the “Island of Gods”
    Angkor Archaeological Park- This park consists of various symbols of the wonderful remains of the capitals of the Khmer Empire.
    Great wall of China- This wall of China is spread across thousand kilometers long area with its condition ranging from ruined to excellent.
    Dead Sea- It is an extreme salty lake where one can stay afloat.
    Mount Everest- It is the tallest mountain of the World which straddles the border of Nepal and China.
    Lake Baikal- It is the deepest as well as biggest freshwater lake located in Asia and it contains more than 1/5 of the total water supply of the World.
    Registan- It is known as the historic heart of the Samarkand city, which is a major trade city on Silk Road.
    Petra- It is an ancient city which is carved out of the sandstones and presently counted on as one of the 7 wonders of the World.
